About Me

From 1970-1973, I attended Murray State University, and Southwest Baptist College, majoring in Speech and Theater.

In 1976, my husband and I moved to southeast Pope County in Southern Illinois, where we Home-Birthed and Home-Schooled our three children, raising them on the 21 acres where I still reside.

Starting in 1985, we participated in a decade long campaign to save the Shawnee National Forest in Southern Illinois from rampant illegal timber sales. I was known during that time for my environmental activism, occupying four protest camps at four different timber sales. I traveled to Washington D.C. eleven times to help educate Illinois Representatives, Senators, and Federal Appropriation Committees about the threats to Illinois' only National Forest, by tax-payer funded logging roads and below-cost timber sales. I also produced a dramatic Shawnee Slide Show that I presented to Universities, High Schools, Elementary Schools, and Civic Organizations in order to raise public awareness about the beauty and biodiversity of the Shawnee. We appeared in local, state-wide, and national media numerous times throughout the decade. Finally, in 1995, as a result of lawsuits filed by environmentalists, an unprecedented Federal Court ruling brought an end to timber sales in the Shawnee National Forest. There has been no timber cutting on Shawnee public lands since 1995!

Having been a vegetarian since 1974, it wasn't until 1995, after the end of the Shawnee timber sales, that I incorporated the Ancient Whole Grains into my plant based diet, which was the Beginning and became the Foundation of what would become my "Wholly J.A.V.A." lyfe-style. Over the next 20 years, I studied the writings of world renowned teachers, and accumulated knowledge of additional Ancient Tools for energy and stamina. I combined the power of these Ancient Tools and the Ancient Whole Grains to create "Wholly J.A.V.A."

Since 2004, I've worked a full time job in the kitchen of a major chain restaurant in Paducah, Kentucky. In 2006, I went back to school to acquire my Associate of Arts Degree from Shawnee Community College, focusing on Elementary Education.

At age 66, I personally use "Wholly J.A.V.A." to generate the stamina and energy to successfully meet the demands of daily living in the 21st century, on the job and at home.
